When the Ring Becomes a Device智能戒指的越界

In May 2026, a Finnish company confidentially filed for a US listing at an $11 billion valuation, with Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan on the underwriting ticket. It sells neither chips nor phones. It sells a ring — under two centimetres across, roughly two grams on the finger.

Weeks earlier, a Chinese gold jewellery house founded in 1994 walked an engineering prototype onto the stage at its annual launch. Mengjinyuan (02585.HK) announced it was entering smart jewellery. The product is called iRingN1.

Two industries that had nothing to say to each other collided in 2026. Consumer electronics is growing toward jewellery; jewellery is growing toward consumer electronics. The meeting point happens to be the oldest ornament humans wear.

Five times bigger in two years

Start with units. Omdia puts global smart ring shipments above 850,000 in 2023, rising to 1.8 million in 2024, with 1.6 million already shipped in the first half of 2025 and full-year volume expected to break 4 million. That is close to a fivefold increase in under two years. Over the same period, smart watches grew at roughly 1.7% a year.

Now the money. Fortune Business Insights sizes the global smart ring market at about $416.9 million in 2025, climbing to $3.77 billion by 2034 — a compound annual growth rate of 29.3%. Global Market Insights is bolder, projecting $7.8 billion by 2035. Widen the frame to smart jewellery overall and the category was worth roughly $3.6 billion in 2024, with $21.6 billion forecast for 2030 at a 19.7% CAGR. China is among the fastest-growing regions: about RMB 8.8 billion in 2025, projected to pass RMB 50 billion by 2030 at 25% a year.

Zoom out once more. The global wearable AI market was worth around $52.65 billion in 2025 and is expected to reach $69.03 billion in 2026, growing 31.1% annually. Within that river, the ring is the fastest current.

Why a ring, and not another watch

The answer is nocturnal. A decade of watches and bands taught hundreds of millions of people to read their own health data, but never solved one awkward fact: most people do not want to sleep wearing something bulky. And night is precisely when the data matters most — heart rate variability, temperature drift, respiratory rate all carry their highest diagnostic weight during sleep.

A ring slips neatly into that gap. Most weigh 3 to 6 grams, carry no illuminated screen, and put no pressure on the wrist when you sleep on your side. Fingertips are densely vascularised, so optical sensors reading heart rate and skin temperature there often deliver steadier signals than the wrist does. Imperceptible wear plus high-fidelity monitoring — that is the increment watches could never capture.

The leaderboard is equally clear. Oura holds roughly 74% of the global market, with more than 5.5 million rings shipped cumulatively by the end of 2025 and an estimated 2 to 4 million subscribers. The Oura Ring 5 retails at $399, is 40% smaller than its predecessor and weighs 2 grams, though full sleep and physiological analysis costs another $5.99 a month. Ultrahuman Ring Pro sits at $479 with a 15-day battery and about 9% share; Samsung's Galaxy Ring matches the $399 price, drops the subscription entirely, and also holds roughly 9%.

Hardware is no longer the moat

In 2022, a Chinese factory could still ship a smart ring at RMB 180–190 ex-works, and brands could retail it at RMB 800–900. Today, industry researchers put the unit cost of a white-label smart ring in Shenzhen's Huaqiangbei market at around RMB 20, with some supply-chain processing margins down to half a yuan per piece.

The implication is blunt. Structurally, a smart ring is not a hard object to build, and against China's supply chain the manufacturing barrier is close to zero. The real moat has been pushed above the commoditised sensor stack — into algorithms, into interpretation, and into whether a customer will pay, month after month, for insight. Oura's valuation was never awarded to two grams of titanium. It was awarded to a business model that turns a one-off hardware sale into recurring service revenue.

Why jewellery brands are moving now

Because the old road is narrowing. China's gold jewellery consumption fell to 364 tonnes in 2025, down 31.61% year on year. Lao Feng Xiang's revenue slipped 7% while its franchise network shrank by a net 499 stores; China Gold's net profit fell roughly 60%. Traditional watch shipments are down some 60–70% from 2010 levels.

Meanwhile the buyer changed. Consumers born after 1995 accept wearables as a default, and when they look at a ring they expect it to be beautiful and useful in the same breath.

Three distinct Chinese strategies have already emerged. The first is supply-chain value: RingConn now sells into more than 80 countries with over 150,000 end users, while Dreame rode a Spring Festival Gala appearance to mainstream awareness and past RMB 11 million in smart ring revenue — the top two sellers on major Chinese e-commerce charts are domestic brands. The second is interaction: early-stage firms have raised eight-figure RMB angel rounds betting on haptic interfaces and on-device AI agents, aimed squarely at technology enthusiasts. The third is the most revealing — treat it as a luxury object outright, with sapphire, natural diamond and aerospace titanium product lines, health algorithms validated in top-tier hospitals, and heritage cloisonné enamel craft grafted onto the shell.

All three roads fork from one question: is a smart ring an electronic device, or a piece of jewellery?

An old jewellery-counter rule is tripping up the technology industry

Nothing exposes the tension better than sizing.

Buying a mainstream smart ring today works roughly like this. At checkout you select a free sizing kit. The brand ships you a set of plastic sizers, arriving in three to eight days. You pick a finger, wear the sizer for a full 24 hours — sleeping, exercising, going about your day — then log back into your order page to submit a size. Only then does the actual ring ship, taking another three to eight days.

The fine print is harsher. RingConn states plainly that sizing kits are consumables: non-refundable, non-returnable, $10 shipping if bought separately, and no half sizes. Samsung's own FAQ confirms a Galaxy Ring can be exchanged for a different colour but not a different size — a wrong fit means a refund and a fresh order. Oura requires generation-specific kits, because sizing shifts slightly between models. Brands then have to warn customers that finger circumference fluctuates through the day with temperature and activity, that plastic sizers feel softer than machined metal, and that when caught between two sizes they should size up.

Show that workflow to any jewellery salesperson and the reaction is the same: isn't this what a ring mandrel on the counter solves in thirty seconds?

That is the mismatch worth watching. What the electronics industry has spent two years routing around with logistics, jewellery retail answered a century ago. Read it the other way and something interesting appears: the "outdated" physical capabilities of a jewellery store — measuring, fitting, resizing on the spot — have quietly become the scarcest infrastructure this category needs. The next battleground is unlikely to be a product page. It will be a counter.

When a device starts demanding jewellery treatment

Admit it is jewellery, and a whole presentation problem arrives with it.

The smart ring is a strange hybrid. It needs a charging dock and it needs ceremony. It carries a manual and a warranty card, and it carries gifting weight — when a public figure wears one on camera, the audience reads an accessory, not a device. That makes its packaging architecture far more demanding than an ordinary ring's: a single presentation box must hold the ring, the charging base, a cable and an instruction card — four objects of entirely different shape, weight and material — without letting them knock into one another in transit.

In store, the problem gets more concrete. Supporting live fitting means the counter must display a full set of sizers legibly numbered, which is not how a conventional display riser is designed. Showing both the ring and the data behind it means the display stand needs room for a screen or an explanatory panel. Factories that have spent years building presentation boxes and retail fixtures are seeing a visible rise in enquiries for these composite structures — and client lists that now include names which never belonged to the jewellery trade at all.

This is more than an opportunity for packaging suppliers. It says something about the category: to go mainstream, the smart ring first has to learn to speak jewellery.

The specs will be copied. The meaning will not.

Sensor specifications can be replicated within two years. The meaning of wearing something cannot. Oura's valuation was never about titanium — it was about the habit of checking your own body every morning, and habits only form if the object stays on the hand.

On that point, the jewellery industry knows more than any technology company. The real dividing line over the next few years probably will not be whose blood-oxygen algorithm is more accurate. It will be who first turns this small circle back from a device into something people actually want to keep wearing.

两条八竿子打不着的线在 2026 年撞到了一起:消费电子往珠宝的方向长,珠宝往消费电子的方向长,交汇点恰好是人类戴了几千年的那个圆环。

两年五倍:一个被低估的品类

先看出货。据 Omdia,2023 年全球智能戒指出货量超 85 万枚,2024 年增至 180 万枚,2025 年仅上半年便已达 160 万枚,全年预计突破 400 万枚——两年不到增长近五倍。同期智能手表的年均增速只有约 1.7%。

再看盘子。Fortune Business Insights 测算,2025 年全球智能戒指市场约 4.169 亿美元,2034 年将攀升至 37.724 亿美元,年复合增长率 29.3%。更大的"智能珠宝"篮子里,2024 年全球约 36 亿美元,2030 年预计 216 亿美元。中国是增长最快的区域之一——2025 年约 88 亿元,2030 年预计突破 500 亿元。全球可穿戴 AI 市场 2026 年预计 690.3 亿美元、增速 31.1%,智能戒指是其中流速最快的一支。

为什么是戒指,而不是又一块表

答案藏在夜里。智能手表和手环用十年教育了数亿人看健康数据,却留着一个别扭:很多人不愿戴着一块厚重的东西入睡。而夜间恰恰是健康数据价值最高的时段——心率变异性、体温波动、呼吸速率皆然。

戒指刚好卡进这道缝:整机通常只有 3 到 6 克,没有屏幕亮光,侧睡不压手腕;指尖血管密集,光学传感器在此读取心率与体温,稳定性往往优于腕部。"无感佩戴 + 高精度监测",构成了智能手表未能覆盖的增量。

格局也很清楚。Oura 以约 74% 市占率居首,截至 2025 年底累计出货超 550 万枚、订阅用户约 200 万至 400 万;主力机型 Oura Ring 5 售价 399 美元、整机仅 2 克,但完整数据分析要另付每月 5.99 美元。Ultrahuman Ring Pro 479 美元主打 15 天续航,三星 Galaxy Ring 同样 399 美元却取消订阅,两者各约 9%。

硬件不再是壁垒,这既是好消息也是坏消息

2022 年,国内工厂生产一枚智能戒指的出厂价还能维持在 180 至 190 元,经品牌溢价后终端可卖到 800 至 900 元。今天据研究机构统计,华强北白牌智能戒指的单只成本已压到 20 元左右,深圳供应链的加工利润低到五毛钱一枚。

很直白:在中国供应链面前,它的制造门槛几乎不存在。真正的壁垒被推到了同质化传感器之上——算法、数据解读,以及用户愿不愿意为持续的健康洞察长期付费。Oura 被资本追捧,靠的从来不是那两克钛金属。

珠宝品牌为什么偏偏在这个节点下场

因为老路正在变窄。2025 年中国黄金首饰消费量仅 364 吨,同比下滑 31.61%;老凤祥营收减少 7%、加盟店净减 499 家,中国黄金净利润锐减约六成;传统手表出货量比 2010 年下滑六到七成。而消费主力已经换人——95 后、00 后对智能穿戴接受度天然更高,他们对"一枚戒指"的期待里,好看和有用是并列的。

国内厂商已跑出三条路。一是供应链性价比:RingConn 远销 80 多国、终端用户破 15 万,追觅靠春晚级曝光破圈、该业务营收突破 1100 万元。二是交互创新:原子埃尔、弦指科技这类初创接连拿下千万级天使轮,押注震动交互与独立 AI 智能体。三是最耐人寻味的一条——直接当奢侈品做:划分蓝宝石、天然钻石、航空钛金三条材质线,健康算法送进三甲医院做临床验证,再绑定掐丝珐琅这类非遗工艺,对着"国礼"价位带去。

分岔点其实是同一个问题:它到底是电子产品,还是首饰?

科技公司正被一条珠宝店的老规矩绊住

最能说明问题的,是尺寸。

今天买一枚主流智能戒指的流程是:下单时先勾选"免费圈号器",品牌寄一套塑料样圈过来,3 到 8 天送达;挑一根手指戴满 24 小时,睡觉运动日常都要测,再登录订单页回填尺寸;品牌这才发货,又是 3 到 8 天。

细则更劝退。RingConn 写明圈号器属消耗品,不退不换,单独购买另付 10 美元运费,且不提供半码;三星官方问答直言 Galaxy Ring 只能换颜色不能换尺寸,不合适只能退款重新下单;Oura 则要求不同世代用对应世代的圈号器。品牌还得反复提醒:手指围度一天内会随温度与活动变化,卡在两码之间时宁可选大的。

把这套流程拿给任何一家珠宝店看,店员的反应大概都是同一句:这不是柜台上一根戒指棒三十秒能解决的事吗?

这是最值得注意的错位。消费电子行业花两年、用整套物流方案去绕的弯路,珠宝零售业早有上百年的成熟答案。反过来说,珠宝店那套被认为"过时"的线下能力——量指围、现场试戴、当场调号,忽然成了智能戒指最稀缺的基础设施。下一个战场很可能不在电商详情页,而在线下柜台。

当一枚设备开始要求首饰待遇

一旦承认它是首饰,一整套呈现问题就跟着来了。

智能戒指是个奇怪的混血:它需要充电盒,也需要仪式感;有说明书和保修卡,也有戒指的赠礼属性——当公众人物戴着它出现在镜头前,它被读作配饰而非设备。这意味着包装结构远比普通戒指复杂:一只首饰盒里要同时安置戒指、充电底座、数据线和说明卡,四件东西形状重量材质完全不同,还不能在运输中互相磕碰。

门店端更具体。要支持现场试号,柜台得能陈列一整套尺寸样圈并让顾客看清编号,这不是普通首饰展台的设计逻辑;要同时展示戒指和它背后的数据,珠宝展示架就得留出屏幕或说明位。像深圳骏依美这类做首饰盒与陈列结构的工厂,近两年复合结构询单明显变多,客户名单里开始出现从来不属于珠宝行业的名字。

换句话说,智能戒指要走进主流,得先学会用珠宝的语言说话。

结语:硬件会被抄完,意义不会

传感器参数两年就能抄完,佩戴的意义抄不走。Oura 的估值不是给那两克钛金属的,是给"每天早上主动看一眼自己身体状态"这个习惯的;而习惯能否养成,取决于用户愿不愿意一直把它戴在手上——这件事,珠宝行业比任何一家科技公司都更懂。

接下来几年的分水岭,大概不是谁的血氧算法更准,而是谁先让这枚圆环从"设备"变回"戴得住的东西"。
