The structure is simple: a solid wooden base, a vertical post in the middle, and a black microfiber cylinder across the top on which the watch simply drapes. Plain as it looks, six out of ten makers have tripped on the base.
The base is solid wood, not density board with a veneer. Solid wood's advantage is weight and stability — the watch sits without wobble; the downside is that it moves with the environment. Turn on the heating up north and the air dries, the board loses water and shrinks inward, and the glue seams crack. In the south during the plum-rain season it swells and the edges arch. We check the moisture content at the intake, holding it at 8 to 10 percent, a touch stricter than the national standard, so the change at the client's store is smaller.

If the base is laminated from two or more pieces, use proper laminating glue and give it enough press time — do not rush. The black microfiber cylinder on top protects the strap. Its diameter is set just under the laid-flat width of most straps, so the watch drapes with the band resting on both sides — no pinch, no slip. Microfiber is denser than foam; a strap can sit all day without leaving a mark, whereas ordinary foam dents a leather band in the middle and the client is unhappy. The cylinder's length also follows the watch case: for a large-diameter watch we add two centimeters so the case does not hang in the air; too short and the head droops, the center of gravity shifts forward, and the stand tips.
The cylinder's core is metal, wrapped in microfiber, fixed with end caps. Loose caps are another failure point: the cylinder spins and the strap drifts. We switched to threaded locking, tightened and then a drop of glue, so it essentially will not back off. The post connects to the base with embedded nuts, not wood eating the screw directly, so repeated assembly stays tight. On the underside of the base we add a thin anti-slip ring, so a wipe keeps the glass counter clean and the stand does not travel with the cloth.
For finishing, solid wood usually gets clear lacquer or wood wax oil. Lacquer is hard and wear-resistant but thick coats hide the grain and look plastic; wax oil breathes and feels wooden, but fears water, so any splash on the counter must be blotted at once. Overseas clients favor the matte wax oil, saying it looks "expensive without shouting," so we do matte for those batches. For the wood itself we commonly use beech and rubberwood — beech has a fine, dense, hard grain; rubberwood is softer and cheaper, fine for sample stands, but for long-term display beech takes the wear.
This stand suits a single hero watch or a try-on piece on the counter; pair it with a small velvet pad beside the base, and the removed watch rests there before going back in its box. 圆柱的轴心是金属的，外裹微纤维，两端用堵头固定。堵头松动是另一个翻车点：松了圆柱会转，表带跟着偏。我们改成螺纹锁紧，拧死后再点一滴胶，基本不会退。支柱和底座的连接用预埋螺母，不靠木头直接吃螺丝，反复拆装也不滑牙。底座底面我们还会贴一圈薄防滑垫，玻璃柜台一抹就干净，不会带着架子跑。
表面处理上，实木一般做清漆或木蜡油。清漆硬、耐磨，但厚了盖住木纹，显塑料感；木蜡油透气，木感好，就是怕水，柜台擦桌子溅到点要马上吸干。海外客户偏爱哑光木蜡油，说看着“贵气不张扬”，我们就给那批做哑光。木种上我们常用榉木和橡胶木，榉木纹细密、硬，橡胶木软些、便宜，做样品架够了，长期陈列还是榉木扛造。
仓储也讲究，实木架不能贴地堆，底下垫托盘，仓库湿度常年压在60以下，回潮季抽湿机开着，不然半年后底座自己就裂。
这种架子适合单只主力表或者试戴款上柜，配个绒布小垫放底座旁边，取下的表先搁垫上再进盒。说白了，实木架卖的就是那点温度和稳当，底座不开裂、圆柱不转，这架子就立得住。
