The wooden box with a glass lid
The SJ27 looks like a small jewelry case, but it is really a wooden body with a transparent glass lid. A black wooden shell, sapphire-blue velvet inside, a mirror set into the inside of the lid, and divided compartments that keep rings and necklaces in their own places. A store uses it for display, a customer uses it to keep personal pieces — it works either way.
The wooden shell starts with a stable finish. The black case is sprayed matte or gloss; lacquer fears two things most — dust nibs and runs. Before spraying, the wood blank is sanded flat and a primer seals the grain, or the topcoat dries showing wood streaks you can feel. On SJ27 we run matte black, so under counter light it does not glare and the box steps back while the jewelry stays the hero.
The glass lid is the heart of this box. Clear glass sits in a groove around the rim; once closed, the inside is sealed off from the outside, and dust control comes first. Counters get leaned over all day, and dust in velvet is a pain to clean. The lid and body share a same-color wood edging so the seam reads as one piece. We use plain clear glass, thick enough not to warp, with a soft rubber gasket so the lid seals without cracking the glass or leaving a gap for dust. A few customers find the glass reflective; we suggest angling the box slightly away from the overhead light.
The inside mirror earns its keep. Set into the lid, it lets a customer check studs or compare styles without reaching for a hand mirror. The angle matters — flush with the lid it reflects true, tilted it distorts the face. The backing must sit tight; in transit a loose mirror rubs its coating, so we slip a thin foam pad behind it. For counters with harsh lighting we can swap in an anti-glare mirror.
Sapphire-blue velvet is the lining star. Blue sets off gold and silver beautifully. Ring cells and a necklace channel are pressed into it so each piece rests in its own spot. The velvet still demands nap direction and a taut stretch — a slack lining bubbles, and a customer feels it at once. Walls between cells keep a necklace from tangling with a ring and from scratching it.
Divided compartments sound simple, but the sizes should follow what you actually sell. Ring cells too wide let studs roll; too narrow reject wide bands. The necklace channel must be long enough, or the chain folds over the edge. SJ27's layout is built for generic small pieces; a brand wanting custom sizes or a foil logo confirms it at sampling.
Some customers use it as a travel case — small, takes no room, the glass lid protects against crushing, and jewelry stays sorted in a suitcase. We usually add a matching outer pouch, both to stop scratches and to keep dust off.
Hinges and magnets are where small boxes hide their headaches. The lid opens dozens of times a day; a loose hinge lets it droop, a tight one fights your hand. Our small hinges carry a damped feel and stop at a set angle. The magnetic catch sits at medium strength — opens with one hand, stays shut when closed, because a lid that pops open on its own at the display is the fastest way to lose a sale. Every unit is handled before it ships; we would rather catch the fault here than at the counter.

内置镜这块有讲究。镜子嵌在翻盖内侧，客人掀盖就能照，挑耳钉、对款式不用另拿化妆镜。镜子角度要调，平贴着盖面照出来是正的，歪一点照出来脸就变形。镜背的背板要贴实，运输里镜子晃会磨花镀层，我们一般加一层薄泡棉垫着。柜台灯太硬的客户，我们也能换防眩镜面。
宝蓝色丝绒是内衬主角。蓝色绒面衬托金银首饰特别出彩，戒指格、项链槽分区压好，每件躺自己位上。绒布同样讲倒顺毛和绷贴，绷不平方格鼓包，客人一摸就知道。格与格之间留挡墙，项链和戒指不串，也不会互相刮。
多格分区看着简单，尺寸得按常卖的款来。戒指格太宽耳钉滚来滚去，太窄塞不进宽版；项链槽要够长，短了链子折在槽外。SJ27这套分区是按通用小件定的，品牌要改尺寸、加 logo 烫印，打样时一并确认。
也有客人拿它当旅行收纳，盒小不占地，玻璃盖防压，塞行李箱里首饰不串。我们一般配个同色外袋，既防刮也防灰。
合页和磁吸是小件里的大学问。翻盖天天开合，合页松了盖耷拉，紧了掰着费劲。我们用的小合页带阻尼感，开到一定角度停得住。磁吸扣吸力调中等，单手能开、合上不弹开，展柜上盖子自己弹开是最败好感的。这些细节出厂前都要逐只过手，别等到了柜台才发现问题。
