The Shift-Change Checklist for Watch Display交班前，腕表陈列的核对清单
The few minutes of a shift change are the gap when things most easily go wrong. The day colleague's phone is ringing, a kid needs picking up, the mind is already out the door. The night colleague has just changed into uniform and isn't fully switched on. Where the watches sit on the counter, which way they face, whether one is missing — all of it rides on that handover sheet. Our store eventually split watch-display checking into its own line. If you don't lay eyes on the stand, the shift isn't handed over.
Most of our watches sit on the metal Watch Display Stand S12 — a gold metal base with black velvet cushions, the pieces arranged at staggered heights. That stagger is the nice part, but it's exactly what handover should verify hasn't been disturbed. After a try-on, someone puts the watch back and, without thinking, levels it out; the whole row becomes a flat line and the depth is gone. Our method is dumb but works: at handover, count from the shortest piece up to the tallest, confirm the count matches the start of the shift, then sign. Last month a day colleague swore the row looked right at close, but the night shift counted and found one watch had slid into a neighbor's slot — the stagger was intact but the assignment was wrong, and a customer's reserved piece was sitting under someone else's light.
The cushions are black velvet. They hide dust but not the impression a strap leaves. A watch left on the S12 long enough presses a faint strap outline into the pile. At handover we run a soft brush one direction across it and the mark lightens. Once the night shift found a small bright patch on one cushion — traced back to a fingernail scraping it during daytime tidying. Not fatal, but under the counter spotlight it shows. So the sheet now carries one more line: "cushion condition," specifically for new scratches.
Orientation is a must-check too. With S12's stagger, each dial has a default angle — hero pieces turned out at forty-five degrees, the rest facing front. In a busy day shift someone turns a dial flat toward the ceiling; if night shift doesn't check, it opens crooked and the customer's first sight is the case back. So one thing we always do at handover is crouch to the customer's eye line and scan the whole row; whatever's off gets straightened on the spot.
Beyond count, the easiest thing to miss is "accessories back in place." Some S12 pieces come with an extra strap or a warranty-card clip; during daytime try-ons they get taken off and not always returned. At handover we flip open each base and look — note what's missing right there, rather than hunting for it live when a customer wants to see the watch.
The last item on the sheet is the light. S12 has no light of its own; it relies on the counter spot. Handover confirms the spot angle wasn't bumped, because a gold base will glare straight back and wash the dial to white. We posted the "three checks" behind the register: count right, angle right, cushion clean. Five minutes to walk through. Skip it once and the next day something breaks.

托垫是黑色绒面的，吸灰但不显脏，真正麻烦的是表带压出的印子。一支表在S12上放久了，绒面会留下淡到几乎看不见的表带轮廓。交接时顺手用软毛刷顺着同一个方向刷一遍，印子就浅了。有回晚班发现一支表的托垫绒面被蹭出一小块亮斑，往回追是白天整理时指甲盖刮的——这种小伤不致命，可柜台射灯一打就显眼。后来交接单专门加了一句“托垫外观”，就为看有没有新刮痕。
朝向也是必核项。S12高低错落，每支表的表盘该朝哪个角度，店里是有默认位置的：主推款朝外斜四十五度，其余朝前。白班一忙，有人把表盘转正冲着天花板，晚班不核对就一直歪着开张，客人第一眼看到的是表背。所以我们交接必做的一件事，是蹲下来用客人的视平线把整排扫一遍，哪支歪了当场摆正。
数量之外，最容易漏的是“配件归位”。S12有的款带替换表带，或者保卡小夹，白天试戴拆下来，未必都装回原处。交接时把每支表的底托翻开看一眼，少了什么当场记下来，总比晚班要给客人看货时现找强。
交接单最后一项是灯。S12本身不带灯，全靠柜台射灯打。交接要确认射灯角度没被人碰歪，否则金色底座一反光，直接把表盘糊成一片白。我们店把“腕表陈列三核对”贴在收银台后头：数量对、朝向对、托垫净。五分钟能走完，但少走一次，第二天准出事。
