The Watch Tune-Up Spot at the Counter腕表柜台上的小修台
Near every watch counter there is a small patch that holds no display pieces — it is reserved for quick on-the-spot fixes: battery swaps, strap cuts, clasp tightening. The job is small, but it shows the store's true colours. A customer walks in wearing a watch; you fix it right there, and that beats asking them to come back another day.
On this little service spot we set the S10 modular watch display system. Blue-and-gold two-tone base, beige velvet cushions, a few stepped heights. Lay the watch down on the cushion, dial up, strap spread, and you can see exactly which link to cut or which battery to change. It was built as a display prop, but moved to the service bench it works perfectly as a work stand — the velvet won't scratch the case back, and the height difference gives your hands room.
Don't underestimate this bench. Plenty of customers only meant to tighten a clasp, then watched you work clean and quick with proper tools, and ended up taking the watch they'd been eyeing. The service bench is the closest seat to a sale; stage it well and trust follows.
Once fixed, the watch doesn't rush back to the case. Slip it into a black microfiber jewelry pouch, the BD10 — Pandora-style, with a gold hot-stamped logo, soft and dust-free, dignified whether you set it down or hand it over. The cut-off links and the old battery go in a separate small box, never in the same pouch as the watch.

There were mistakes. A new hire once dropped cut links onto the velvet; the metal pressed a line into the S10 cushion and it looked aged on the spot. We now lay a thin washable leather pad over the cushion — easy fix, and the bench takes daily abuse.
Another time a tiny screw from a strap cut bounced into the display case seam; ten minutes of searching. Now a velvet cloth always sits at the bench edge to catch it — no screw hits the floor.
In the few minutes a customer waits, their eyes sweep the bench. Tidy, and they trust the store; messy like a flea market, and even an expensive watch makes them hesitate. The service bench isn't backstage — it is part of the counter's front face.

别小看这块台。很多客人本来只打算紧个表扣，看见你手法利落、道具干净，顺手就把看中那块也定了。小修台是离成交最近的服务位，摆得专业，信任就来了。
修完的表，不急着回展示柜。先用黑色超细纤维的珠宝索口袋BD10装一装。潘多拉那款，袋身烫印金色标识，软乎不沾灰，临时搁着或递给客人都体面。要是截下来的表带节、换下的旧电池，另用个小盒收，别和表混在一个袋里。
墨绿超纤的珠宝首饰盒SH1也在这备着。五件套规格，戒指耳钉项链手镯都能装，客人修完顺手要个盒带走，直接给。盒面金属小饰件配墨绿，不像临时凑的，倒像特意为他留的。
电池和表带节得按型号分格放，别全倒一个盒。客人等的时候你翻半天找不着对应型号，他就不耐烦了。我们给每种常用电池贴个小标，表带节按品牌装箱，拿取不过三秒。
小修台最容易乱。表带节一小堆、电池型号好几样、螺丝刀镊子散着，客人凑过来看你就慌。我们习惯把工具收进一个窄抽屉，台面只留 S10、一两只用过的袋和正在修的表。修一样清一样，台面始终空着大半。
也有翻车。有回新来的伙计把截下的表带节随手放绒面上，金属压出一道印，那块 S10 的托垫当场就显旧了。后来给托垫上铺了张薄皮垫，可换洗，省心。小修台天天高频用，道具得经造。
还有一回，截表带崩飞的小螺丝滚进展示柜缝里，找了十分钟。现在小修台边永远放块绒布垫着接，螺丝不掉地。
客人等修那几分钟，眼睛会扫台面。台面利落，他觉得这家店靠谱；台面跟杂货摊似的，表再贵他也犯嘀咕。小修台不是后台，它是柜台前脸的一部分。
